- Vocabulary: comparatives of adjectives.

1. Class organization:

- Greeting

- Checking for the students' attendance.

2. Oral test:

 - check the vocabularies of the last lesson.

Lesson 2(1.2.3)
I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: make comparisons.
2. Skills: 
- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills
3. Language focus:
- Sentence Partners: Who’s + (comparision)? -  + is + (comparision).
- Vocabulary: comparatives of adjectives.
II. Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
III. Teaching processes:
1. Class organization:	
- Greeting
- Checking for the students' attendance.
2. Oral test:
 - check the vocabularies of the last lesson.

 Warm up: Sing – a happy song
Look, listen and repeat.
- Ask Ss to identify the characters in the picture a, b, c and d on page 26 and what they are saying.
- Set the scene “you are going to listen to Nam and Peter are comparative between Nam’s father and his brother.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape.
- T asks Ss to listen and repeat in chorus two times.
- Call on one pair. One repeats Nam’s part and the other repeats Peter’s part.
Have whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation. And do the same with the dialogue between Nam and Peter.
2. Point and say.
- Have pupils look at pictures on Page 26. Elicit the stuation in each picture. 
Teach comparative:
 Tall - Taller Short - shorter
 Old – older Young - Younger
 Slim – Slimmer 
-check vocabulary: rewrite the comparative of words.
Model sentence: 
 Who’s + (comparision)?-  + is + (comparision). 
-Ask pupils to guess and complete the speech bubbles.
- Model: Call on a pair. Allocate the parts of the characters the girl and the boy to the pupils. Ask them to point the pictures and act out the dialogues. Using the pictures in their books. Monitor the activity and offer help. Correct pronunciation errors (stress, assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary.
- Call on some pairs to perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments.
- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation.
3. Let’s talk:
* Work in groups:
- Ask students to practise asking and answering about family members’ jobs.
- using model : Where does he/she look like?
 – He’s / She’s 
	Who’s + (comparision)?
 -  + is + (comparision)
- Ask Ss work in pairs. Call some pairs to act out
Correct their pronunciation

Warm-up: 
-Sing a song
1. Listen and repeat:
• Whole class. Have pupils turn to Page 28 of their Student Books. 
- Tell them they are going to learn how to produce the sound of the letter th in the words this, that, thin, thick.
 Th this This is my mother.
 that That is my father.
 thin The book is thin.
 thick The dictionary is thick. 
-Produce the sounds f and sh a few times. Ask pupils to say what they think about when they hear these sounds. 
-Teach the word thick in the sentence The dictionary is thick.
-Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation.
2. Listen and tick. Then write and say aloud:
-Have pupils look the words.
-Tell the pupils that they are going to listen the sentences and tick the words they hear.
-Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. 
-Play the recording again for pupils to listen and tick the words.
-Have pupils trade their answers within in pairs for correction.
-Call on a pupil to read the words they choose.
-T gives the correct answers and checks
-Ask pupils to write the answers in their notebook then say aloud the sentences with the correct words in chorus
3. Let’s chant: This is my family.
- Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 28 written on it on the board. 
-Tell pupils that they are going to chant. 
-Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read. Clap the syllables. 
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables. 
.4. Homelink:
- Write the chant on page 28 and learn by heart.
- Be ready for unit 15
