UNIT 13: FESTIVALS
	LESSON 3: Listen 
I. OBJECTIVES:
 Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to practice talking about the Robinsons’ preparations for Tet.
II. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette tape
III. PROCEDURES:

Students’ activities
1. Pre –Listening: (13’)
- Have students answer questions:
+ What kinds of food do we have to prepare for Tet?
+ What kinds of fruit do we have to prepare for Tet?
+ What kinds of flowers do we have to prepare for Tet?
- Ask students to read the statements p. 124 and guess the words to fill in the gaps.
- Explain some new words. 
1. peach blossom (n)
 2. marigolds (n)
 3. spring roll (n)
 4. watermelon (n)
 5. seed (n)
- Play the tape for students (2 or 3 times).
2. While – Listening: (20’)
- Have students listen again to check their answer.
 a. Mr. Robinson / Flower market.
 b. traditional.
 c. dried watermelon seeds.
 d. make 
- Ask students write what things the Robinsons have to do.
+ Mr. Robinson: Go to the flower market to buy peach blossom and a bunch of marigolds.
+ Liz: Go to the market to buy candies and a packet of dried watermelon seeds.
+ Mrs. Robinson: Go to Mrs. Nga to learn how to 
make spring rolls.
3. Post – Listening: (10’)
- Have students play game”Brainstorming” 
Write “things to do” to prepare for Tet.
4. Homework: (2’)
- Learn by heart vocabulary
- Prepare next lesson: Unit 13 – Read/ p. 124 -126.
- Pair works.
+ Food: Chung cake, candies, jam, dried watermelon seeds .....
+ Fruit: bananas, apples, mangoes  
+ Flowers: peach blossoms, marigold, apricot blossoms 
- Read the dialogue and guess.
- Listen and write.
