Step 1: - pre- reading. 
Open prediction:
- Set the scene: “ Hoa and Nga are talking on the phone. They are talking about going to see a movie”.
- Ask Ss to guess: 
Who made the call?
Who introduced herself?
Who invited the other to the movie?
Who arranged a meeting place?
Who arranged the time?
Who agreed the time?
Give feedback. T writes Ss’prediction on the b.b.
Step 2:- while reading. 
Activity 1Reading and checking the prediction.
- Have Ss read the conversation between Hoa and Nga (P19) while listening to the tape to check their prediction.
- Give feedback and correct.
Activity 2:Comprehension Question.
- Put a poster with some questions on the b.b and ask Ss to ask and answer in pairs.
Questions
What is Hoa’s telephone number?
Which movie are they going to see? Where?
How is Hoa going to see the movie?
Where are they going to meet? What time ?
- Get some pairs to work open.
Activity 3: Matching:
- Ask Ss to match some phrases with their meanings.

- Ask Ss to put the sent.s (Speak 1- P20) in the correct order to make a complete conversation.
