UNIT 2: MAKING ARRANGEMENTS
Lesson 2: SPEAK AND LISTEN (POST)
I. Objectives:
Educational aims: 
Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
	- Make arrangements through telephone, listen a short dialogue and fill in the missing information.
 	- Develop speaking and listening skill.
II. Preparations: Text book, cassette tape.
III. Procedures:

1. Warm - up (5’)
- Have students practice the previous dialogue.
- Ask questions about the dialogue.
- Practice the dialogue.
- Answer the questions. 
2. Pre - speaking (8’)
- Have students look at the sentences in exercise 1.
- Ask students pre- speaking questions. 
 a. Who are phoning each other?
 b. What are they phoning for?
- Ask students to put the sentences in the correct order to make a complete conversation.
- Check and supply the answers.
 1. b – 2.f – 3.j – 4.a – 5.i – 6.c – 
 7. e – 8.k – 9.g 10. h – 11.d.
- Look and read.
- Answer the questions. 
 a. Adam is phoning Eric.
 b. They are making arrangements to go to a pop concert at the City Concert Center.

- Correct and copy the answers.
3. While - speaking (15’)
- Ask students to practice the complete dialogue.
- Ask students to look at the picture, ask questions. 
 a. Who are they?
 b. What are they doing?
- Introduce the dialogue.
 a. Who makes the call?
 b. What does he make the call for?
- Have students read the open dialogue to find Bao’s suitable responses. 
- Check and correct the answers.
- Have students practice the complete dialogue.
- Supply students with vocabulary: to be out, message (n) ª leave a message, appointment (n) ª make appointment.
- Pair works. 
- Look at the picture and answer the questions. 
- Listen to the teacher. 
 a. Bao makes the call.
 b. He invites Ba to play chess.
- Group works. 
- Correct the answers.
- Pair works. 
- Listen and write. 
4. Post - speaking (15’)
- Ask students to make similar dialogues.
- Ask students to display their works on the board.
- Check and correct mistakes (if necessary)
- Introduce the people in the dialogue: a secretary and a woman.
- Have students guess what they are going to do.
- Ask students to read the form with missing information.
- Guide students how to fill in the form.
- Play the tape for students. 
- Check students’ answers and correct them.
