-Guides Sts to play game “ Finding the ideal partner” 
-Divides whole class into two groups ( group A is boys, B is girls). And then match part A. With the sentences of part B 
-The group which has more correct sentences , is winner 
-Remarks the game.

If S + simple present , S + modals + V
Reminds the conditional sentence 1. with modal verbs if.
a.Dieãn taû söï kieän coù theå xaûy ra ôû töông lai.
Ex: If I have enough money, I’ll take a vacation in sapa.
b. Dieãn taû söï caàn thieát.
Ex: If you want to attend this course , You must pass the test .
-Has them do exercise 1 complete the sentences use the modal verbs in the box.
-Calls some pairs to practice before class.
-Corrects mistakes . if necessary.

Mrs Quyen : If you want to get good grades, you must study hard.
b.Hoa.
Aunt Thanh : You have to go to university if you want to study.
c. Ba:
Nga: if you want to lose weight.You Should do a lot of exercise .
d.Mr Tuan:
Mrs Thoa : If he docsn’t come soon , he might miss the train .

Mrs nga: if you want to get well , you ought to stay in bed .

Mrs Kim: You must do your home work if you want to go out.
-Guides Sts to change the direct speech in to reported speech with tense, place, time tense “Luøi laïi moät thì”.

-Sets the scence .” Lan’s father held a party to celebrate his mother’s birthday. Unforlunately Mrs Thu , her grandmother , has a hearing problem and see couldn’t hear what people were saying . After the party, Lan reported everything to her grandmother. Now you are Lam . Put the direct statements into indirect ones as the example in the book.
Ex: “ I’m happy to see you” Aunt Xuan said she was happy to see you.

 -Guides Sts to further practice this kind of exercise with 
reporled questions .Apart from the similar rules with the reported statements,the following rules should be noticed.
Reported verbs are asked, wondered , inquired , wanted to know. If the repored verbs are said, said to or told ,they should be changed in to asked.
 * Form of yes – No question

 S + asked +(object) + if / whether + S + V
 * WH - Question.
S+asked + ( object) + question word + S +V
-Elicits Sts to do exercise 4. This morning Nga had an interview for a summer job when she arrived hone, she told her mother about the interview . Base on the above rules, you report the questions which the inter viewer asked Nga as the example in the book.
Ex: “Do you like pop music?”.=> She asked me if/whether I liked pop music .
Ex: “Where do you live ?” =>She asked me where I lived.
