I) Aims : Reading a text about preparing for dinner of Hoa and her aunt.

II) Objectives : By the end of the lesson, the students can understand how to make a meal by making some dishes. They will consolidate the past simple tense .

- Vocab: To slice, bowl, to boil, to heat ,to stir- fry , soy sauce , chopsticks, spoon, onion, glass.

- Gram- structures : the past simple tense.

 First, next, then, after that, finally.

- Skill : Reading, speaking, writing and listening.

III) Teaching aids : Textbook, tape, pictures, showing powerpoint.

What shall we eat ? (A3,4,5*)
Aims : Reading a text about preparing for dinner of Hoa and her aunt.
Objectives : By the end of the lesson, the students can understand how to make a meal by making some dishes. They will consolidate the past simple tense .
Vocab: To slice, bowl, to boil, to heat ,to stir- fry , soy sauce , chopsticks, spoon, onion, glass.

- Show them in screen.
- Ask Ss to call on their name

I. Pre-teach
- Use some pictures to describe some new words.
- Ask Ss to anwer.
+ To slice ( v ) : Thái 
+ To boil ( v ) : luộc 
+ To heat ( v ) : đun nóng 
+ To stir – fry ( v ) : Xào 
+ Bowl ( n ) : cái bát 
+ Chopsticks ( n ) : đôi đũa 
+ Soy sauce ( n ) : xì dầu
 + Spoon ( n ) : thìa 
 + Green pepper (n): ớt xanh
 + Onion (n) : Hành
* Check vocabulary:
- Ask Ss to read the new words and call on someone to the front of the class.
- Ask Ss to look at pictures and call words.
II. Open prediction.
Class, Last period, Hoa and her aunt went to the market and bought some something for dinner.What do they have for dinner? 
- Ask Ss to guess the order of the statement:
Then she cooked some rice and boiled some spinach.
Finally , she sliced the
Hoa’s aunt cooked dinner .
Next, she sliced some green pepers and onions .
And then she set the table and the family sat down to eat .
After that she stir- fried the beef and vegetables .

- Ak Ss tro work in group of four.
- Call on some groups to answer.
Practice
1.Reading and explaining.
- Ask Ss to open the books and read A3 on P116.
- Call some sutudents on and ask them to read in front of the
- Check and give the correct answer for above guessing :
 C-G-D-A-F-B-E.
- Explaining how to use : First, then, finally.
2. Comprehension questions:
-Ask Ss to work in pair to answer the question:
What did Hoa, her aunt and uncle have for dinner?
- Ask some pairs to practice in front of the class.
- Check and give the correct answer:
+ Cucumber salad with onions .
+ Boiled spinach 
+ Stir- fried beef with green pepers and onions 
+ Rice 
-Ask Ss to read the text again and look at screen to complete the sentences.Then matching those sentences with pictures:
- Divide class into 4 groups
- Call students on to give their answers.
- Check and give the correct answer:
1-c. Slice 2-f. slice 
 3-a. heat 4-d. stir- fry 
 5-b. add 6-e. cook 
 7-g. add 
3. Writing
- Ask Ss to answer question.
What did you eat and drink yesterday?
- Call Ss go to the board and write the answer
- Check and correct.
* Discussion. 
- Ask Ss to work in group of four
What did Hoa’s aunt cook?
What did she do first/ next/ last?
- Ask Ss to listen the tape (A5* and A3) and repeat A5*
- Call Ss read the text again. 
Learn by heart the new words and remember part.
