2. Prepositions
1. Prepositions of time: at, in , on
at: lúc -> + hours – Eg: at six thirteen // + age -> at the age of six
 Exept: at night về đêm , at Christmas vào lễ giáng sinh , at Easter vào lễ phục sinh , at / on weekend vào ngày cuối tuần
- on : vào-> + days >on Monday// +buổi của ngày trong tuần->On Monday morning.
- in : vào+ mounths / years / -> in May -> in 2007 - hay thời gian dài hơn
 + buổi của ngày: -> in the morning / after noon / evening.
Notes: Cụm từ chỉ thời gian thường được viết ở cuối câu hoặc đầu câu
2. Prepositions of place: at, in , on , in front of, ....
- at : ở, tại
 Một địa điểm xác định: at home , at school , at my brother’s house....
 Một địa chỉ: at 32 Tran phu Street, 
- on: trên : on the table / the way / the river.
- in : trong/ở -> in the city/ ahouse / the village/ the country....
- in front of , to the left / right of, behind, before, after, between, from ...to...., near , next to ......

a. Who: ai -> dùng chỉ người, làm chủ từ.
b. Whom: ai -> dùng chỉ người, làm tân ngữ (túc từ)
c.Whose: của ai -> dùng chỉ người, chỉ sở hữu.
d. What: gì, cái gì -> dùng chỉ vật, đồ vật , làm chủ từ hoặc túc từ
e. Which: nào, cái nào -> dùng chỉ vật, con vật, làm chủ từ hoặc túc từ.
f. Where: đâu, ở đâu -> chỉ nơi chốn.
g. When: khi nào -> chỉ thời gian.
h. Why: tại sao -> chỉ lí do hay nguyên nhân.

 How: thế nào, cách nào -> chỉ trạng thái, thể cách, phương tiện.

 PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE AND MODAL AUXILARY VERBS
I. Aims

 -to know the theory of the present progressive / continuous tense : form, usage, meaning.
 -to know again how to use modal verbs: can, must, may , ought to, will , shall, need , dare .

 A. Theory:
*The present progressive - Diễn đạt một hành động đang xẩy ra vào đúng lúc nói, ta chia động từ ở thì hiện tại tiếp diễn.
- Các trạng từ chỉ thời gian đi kèm: now(bây giờ), right now (ngay lúc này), at the moment (đúng lúc này), at present (hiện nay) để nhấn mạnh tính chất đang tiến hành của hành động ở ngay lúc nói.
 Form: 
 a. S + is / am / are + V-ing .
 b. S + is / am / are + not + V-ing 
 c. Is / Am / Are + S + V-ing .?
 Yes, S + be . / No, S + be + not
 d. Wh + be + S + V-ing ? -> S + be + V-ing..
-> Present Participle(V-ing) hiện tại phân từ , được thành lập bằng cách thêm –ing vào sau động từ nguyên thể của động từ.
Notes: - Có một số động từ tận cùng bằng chữ e câm: ta phải bỏ chữ e rồi mới thêm ing vào sau động từ. write – writing, ride – riding , drive - driving.
 - Những động từ có một âm nguyên âm duy nhất đứng giữa hai phụ âm ta phải gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi mới thêm ing:run – running, swim - swimming, get - getting.
*Modals:
a. Affermative form
 S + can / must + V +..
b. Negative form
 S + can’t / mustn’t + V
c. Interrogative form
 Can + S + V ..?Yes, S + can ./ No, S + can’t 
* Can: Chỉ khả năng . Có thể. He can play soccer
 Chỉ sự cho phép. Có thể. You can park here.
 -> Can’t: Chỉ sự cấm . Không được. You can’t turn left
* Must: diễn tả sự bắt buộc(an obligation) hay sự cần thiết (the necessity)
- Có tính cách cá nhân. I must do the exercises every day.
- Của chính sự kiện (có tính quy tắc). We must drive on the right.
- Có tính cách mệnh lệnh: You must do your homework.
* Must not=mustn’t: không được. Chỉ sự ngăn cấm (a prohibition).You mustn’t talk in class. -> Musn’t = can’t
* Needn’t : không phải, không cần: Phản nghĩa của “must”
Must we ? No,You needn’t. He must come here tomorrow but I needn’t
Ss make sentences using those structures.
Ss do one by one or Teacher gives cues to Ss to make sentences.

Ex1: Make sentences using can or must
Eg: Ha / play games in the afternoon / do his homework in the evening.
Ha can play games in the afternoon, but he must do his homework in the evening
