A. THE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to:

 - Review the language from the previous sections and links with the topics.

 - Practice doing some exercises to consolidate abd apply what they have learnt in Unit 1.

B. CONTENT: Vocabulary: school lexical items

Grammar: The present simple and present continuous tenses; Verb (study, have, do, play) + Noun

C. MATERIALS: course book, questionnaire, handouts, posters, CD, CD player

Work arrangements: Individuals, pairs, groups, T-WC

Anticipated problems: Students’ poor listening

A. THE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to:
 - Review the language from the previous sections and links with the topics.
 - Practice doing some exercises to consolidate abd apply what they have learnt in Unit 1.

Vocabulary
Write the words that match the pictures.
Kim’s game
- Ask students to look at the pictures in 30 seconds.
- Individually write the words. Students compare their answers with their partners’
- Then teacher gets some students to write the answers on the board, corrects the mistakes. 
- Let students repeat the words.
- Check their pronunciation
Matching
- Have Ss match the words in A with ones in B.
Listen and write down the words you hear.
- Play the recording twice. Let Ss write the words in the correct places.
- Give correction.
Grammar
- Ask students to refer to Remember on page 9 and 10. 
? What are the present simple and present continous used for?

- The present simple is used to refer to something often happens or is fixed.
- The present continuous is used for something is happening now.
- Ask Ss to do these exercises (4, 5, 6) individually first. Then they can check their answers with a partner before discussing the answers as a class.
- Tell Ss to keep a record of their original answers so they can use that information in their Now you can statements.
Communication
- Ask Ss to read the questions and answers once or twice, then match them.
- Have Ss write all the sentences in their notebooks.
- Students work individually first. Then they work in pairs and role-play the questions and answers.
Project
- Divide the class into 6 groups.
? Discuss your dream school, using the pictures and your imagination.
Students work in groups. Discuss their dream school. Then write about it and illustrate their writing.
