-Asks students to look at the board and shows 
them 4 pictures. 
-Asks students some questions: 
+ What are these activities? 
+ In Viet Nam, when do people usually do these 
activities? 
+ Who knows what these activities are called? 
-Lead to the topic of the lesson: 
“So what are traditions in countries around the 
world, especially in the UK and Russia?” 
-Look at the board 
-Listen and answer the 
questions 
-Expected answers: 
+ They are making Chung 
Cakes, decorating house, 
cleaning house, giving and 
receiving luck money. 
+ In Tet Holiday 
+ They are Vietnamese 
traditions. 
-Listen to the teacher 
“Alright, in order to answer this question, we turn 
to the lesson today, part C. Speaking: Traditions 
around the world” 
-Write the title on the board 
-Write down in notebooks 
Before you speak 
Task 1: 
-Asks students to look at the board 
-Lets students play the game: “Find the honey” 
-Tells students the rules: 
+ You have to take your group‟s bear to the honey 
by choosing a suitable route. When reaching a (?) 
sign, you have to answer the question behind it. 
+ A correct answer allows your bear to continue 
the route. A wrong answer will turn the square 
into a rock. At this time, you cannot move 
forward and have to find another route. 
+ The bear reaching the honey first will be the 
winner and get a small gift from me. 
-Checks the answers and give feedback 
-Asks students “Who can guess what the 
information in the game relates to?” 
-Look at the board 
-Listen to the teacher

 -“To know more about the traditions and customs 
in the UK and Russia, we turn to the next part.”

Task 2: 
-Divides students into two groups and each group 
read about one country (The UK/ Russia) 
-Asks them to underline the most interesting 
things about the country they read 
-Gives students 3 minutes to read 
-Shows students suggested answer about the most 
interesting things of two countries 
-Shows them a sample conversation and ask 3 
students to read it out 
-Asks students to works in groups of 3 and make 
the conversation using the cues in their handouts 
-Gives students a time to practice and then calls 2 
groups to perform 
-Checks the answer and pronunciation if any 
the UK and Russia 
-Listen to the teacher and do 
as told 
-Read the passage and 
underline 
-Look at the board and check

Student A: I think the most interesting thing 
about the UK is that Britain is a tea-
drinking nation. 
Student B: Do you? I think that many of the 
world‟s sports originate in the UK is more 
interesting. 
Student C: I agree with B. I find what B has 
said is the most interesting. 
 Task 3: 
-Asks students to work with a partner from 
different group and share with each other what 
you have learnt about traditions and customs of 
either the UK or Russia at home 
-Tells them: “Next lesson, I will check up 
previous knowledge about Task 3” 
-Asks them to move to next part. 
After you speak: 
Task 4: 
-Asks students to look at the board 
-Shows them a paper board of a list of popular 
food and drinks, popular sports, and festivals in 
Viet Nam. 
-Asks two students go to the board and rank them 
in the order of popularity. 
-Checks the answer and give feedback if 
necessary 
-Asks students to work in groups of 3 and make a 
conversation as the example in their handouts 
(Divides class into two groups and one will talk 
about sports and one talk about festivals; food and 
drinks are exercises at home) 
-Calls some groups to perform their conversation 
-Gives feedback
