1. Objectives: -By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about different places and show directions to these in a neighborhood.
Language contents:
- Grammar: The simple present, Comparative adjectives.
- Vocabulary: the lexical items related to the topic “My neighbourhood”.
3. Techniques: Group-work, Listen and answer, Chatting, Gap filling, Individual , Pair work
4. Teaching aids: -Textbook , extra board , pictures, CD player, flash cards.
5. Time: Allotted 45 minutes

Procedures: T Teacher’s Activities Ss’ Activities Content 5’ - Give a game Lead in: - Choose 2 pictures - Look at these pictures, where are they? today we continue to learn Unit 4 part Communication ,project - Have Ss look at extra vocabulary. - Ask Ss if they know about Hoi An. Allow 20 – 30 seconds for Ss to think. - Have Ss brainstorm about Hoi An - Whole class - Listen and answer: - They are in my neighbourhood. I.WARM UP:WHAT THEY ARE: - What do you know about Hoi An? - Anything you can remember about it. +New lesson: II. COMMUNICATION * Presentation: 28’ - Playing the recording. Ask Ss to listen only. Then play the recording again and allow Ss to fill in the gaps as they listen. - Ask Ss to share their answers in pairs, before playing the recording a final time to allow the pairs to check their answers. - Ask Ss to read the audio guide again, paying attention to the use of the connective works. -Ask Ss to match two columns - Give the correction. - Ask Ss to read the brief information about London and Ho Chi Minh city and look carefully at the two simplified maps of the two cities. - Remind Ss of the expressions they can use to give directions; have Sss refer to the expressions in the dialogue and 5 of getting started. - Haves Ss prepare their audio guide individually and then share it with a partner. - Have Ss practice presenting their audio guide in pairs. - Call some Ss to present their audio guide to the whole class. - After each St has finished his/ her audio guide, ask for some comments from the other Ss. - Make comments and any mistakes if there are any. - T-Whole class - Individual work - Individual work - Do in 2 groups. - Pair-work - Whole class * Practice: 1. Create an audio guide for your city. Remember to: - Include some comparisons with other cities. - Give directions to different places. 3. Present your guide to your class. HCM City: Welcome to Ho Chi Minh city! It’s the largest city in South of Viet Nam. The streets are very busy with a lot of motorbikes and cars. Ho Chi Minh is famous for its beautiful places, parks and restaurants. First, go to Duc Ba Cathedral. To get there, walk along Hai Ba Trung street. Then turn left on the first street. The Cathedral is on your left, in Nguyen Du street. Second, go to Sai Gon Opera House. To get there, walk along this road for ten minutes. The Sai Gon Opera House is on your right, between Cao Ba Quat street and Nguyen Sieu street. After that, go to Thong Nhat palace. Cross Dong Khoi street, walk along Ly Tu Trong street then take the first g on your right. Go to the end of this street. The Thong Nhat palace is on your left. London: Welcome to London. London is the capital city of England. It’s a historic city on the River Thames. London is famous for its old buildings and beautiful parks. First, let’s go to Buckingham Palace. You go straight a head and take the first turning on your right. It’s on your left. The Queen Victoria Memorial is opposite to the Buckingham Palace. Then, go to Peter Pan Statue. To get there, go to the end of this road. The Peter Pan Statue is on your right. After that, we can go to the Westminster Cathedral and the houses of Parliament. Go straight ahead, take the first turning on your right, then walk along that street and take the second turning on your left. The Westminster Cathedral is on your right. The houses of Parliament is next to the Westminster Cathedral. + Remark:
