Week : 4 UNIT 2 : AT SCHOOL LESSON 3. : B3,4,5 Period : 9 Date : 19/9/2015 I. Aim: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to spell their names and read the Alphabet letters. II. Language contents: Grammar: - How do you spell it? your name Vocabulary: spell Alphabet letters (A – Z) III. Techniques: Games (Slap the board, Bingo) Chatting Asking and answering Pairworks IV. Teaching aids: pictures / some photos of famous singers or football players, cassette, tape V. Procedure: Teacher’s and Students’ activities Content - T. asks Ss to practice asking and answering about their names and addresses each other. Ss work in pairs to ask and answer each other. - T. corrects their mistakes in grammar and pronunciation. - T. introduces to Ss the Alphabet letters and asks them to listen to the tape twice. - Then T. has Ss listen to letter by letter and repeat them aloud (choral) - T. writes them on the board. - T. has them reread the letters (individual) - T. corrects their pronunciation. - Then Ss are taught to sing the song “ABC” if necessary. - T. has the class play the game “Slap the board” - T. gives her idea. - T. introduces the dialogue, p. 25. Ss imagine the situation of this dialogue. - T. asks Ss to listen to the dialogue twice and then repeat it after the tape. - T. has Ss retell the pattern about asking someone’s name and give a model pattern to ask someone to spell his or her name. - T. asks Ss to predict the meaning of the word “spell” - T. gives an example with a student and guides the class to practice. - T. asks Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs (silently, aloud) - T. corrects their pronunciation. - T. has Ss make some open dialogues in 3 minutes silently. Ss work in pairs and use their own names. - T. calls some pairs of Ss to practice in front of class aloud. - T. gives her idea and corrects their mistakes. - T. asks Ss to have a look at some questions in B5, p. 25 - T. asks Ss to practice asking and answering these questions each other (silently, aloud) - T. calls some Ss to write the answers on the board, then in their notebooks. - T. corrects their mistakes. - T. calls each pairs of Ss to ask and answer about their names and spell them in English. - T. gives her idea. - Then T. has Ss play the game “Bingo” with the Alphabet letters they’ve just learnt. - T. gives her idea. - After finishing this game, T. has Ss look at some photos of famous singers or football players and asks them to give their names and spell them. - T. gives her idea. 1.
