Procedure: Teacher's and Students' activities Content - T. has the class play "Chain game" with the school things they've already learnt. Ss work in groups (A and B) - T. gives her idea - T. asks Ss to retell the pattern about asking numbers of people in one's family. - T. introduces the new pattern to ask about numbers of people or objects (notice the form of noun) - T. guides Ss to practice reading the pattern. Ss read it aloud. - T. points at something in class and ask Ss to answer her question. - T. introduces a new word and guides Ss to read it (choral, individual) - T. corrects their pronunciation - T. has Ss practice the pattern in pairs silently and aloud. Ss practice asking and answering each other about numbers of things in the picture (B5, p. 37), then they make free practice (using realia) - T. corrects their mistakes in pronunciation and grammar - Then T. has Ss practice in groups to count the items in the living room. Ss work in groups silently in 3 minutes, then they give their keys and check their answers together - T. asks Ss to read the quantity of items in front of class - T. corrects their mistakes - T. asks Ss to do exercises. Ss practice in pairs to ask and answer each other. - T. has Ss practice asking and answering the questions (silently), then they practice aloud Ss work in pairs to ask and answer - T. has Ss write the dialogues on the board. - T. corrects their mistakes 1.
