- Have Ss make a dialogue in which questions of distance and means of transportation are used.
- Comment and give feedback
- Practice in pairs in front of class
 1.Warm up: 
 * Ss’ dialogue: ex: 	
Minh: Where do you live ?
Nam: I live at 20 Le Loi Street.
Minh: How far is it from your house to school ?
Nam: It’s about two kilometers.
Minh: How do you go to school ?
Nam: I go to school by bike.
- Have Ss look at the picture and remember the places in the picture.
- Ask Ss pre – listening questions
- Remind Ss the structure “How far is it from . to . ?”
- Explain the request of the listening 
- Look at the picture and remember
- Guess & answer

- Listen to the explanation
 2. Pre – listening:
 * Questions:
- Is Lan’s house near/ far from school?
- Is Lan’s house near the market/ post office/ theater?
 * Structure:
+ How far is it from school to your house ?
+ It’s about one (kilo)meter(s).
- Have Ss listen to the dialogues for the 1st time
- Have Ss listen to the dialogues for the 2nd time
- Call on some Ss to give their answers.
- Give Ss the correct answers

 3. While – listening:
 * Answers: 
It’s about 300 metres from school to Lan’s house.
It’s only 700 metres from the post office to Lan’s house.
It’s 3 kilometres from school to the movie theatre.

- Have Ss practice talking about distances from their school to somewhere, using the cue words.

 1.Warm up: 
*Read these numbers:
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

- Have Ss look at the page and guess where it comes from.
- Give Ss vocabulary.
- Elicit how to read telephone numbers 
- Explain how to read the numbers with a focus on combinations that might trouble Ss such as “88”.

- Play the tape and ask Ss to write down the numbers they hear
- Have Ss compare their answers with their partner’s answers.
- Notice Ss linking sounds that might cause difficulty in listenning.

- Do you often talk to s.o on the phone?
- Do you know the question asking for telephone number? 
- Do you know how to give your number to other?

- Have Ss say the 6 numbers (one says the subscriber’s name, the other says his/her number)
- If possible, give further practice by asking Ss to listen to numbers and identify the subscribers
