I. Aims 
1. Skills: 
- Practice speaking skills
- Language practice: Active and Passive voice
- Groupworks and pairwork skill
2. Knowledge: Help ss to review some special information about the Temple of Literature. Review the way of giving advive to someone and changing the active voice into the pasive voice at the present tense.
2.1. Vocabulary: book a hotel in advance; pay a visit;
2.2. Grammar: Practise giving advive to someone; Practise changing the active voice into the pasive voice at the present tense.
3. Attitude towards: Biết yêu quý cảnh đẹp quê hương, có ý thức trách nhiệm trọng việc gìn giữ và tôn tạo các danh lam thắng cảnh của đất nước nói chung, của tỉnh Lạng Sơn nói riêng.
4. Nội dung tích hợp: Môn Lịch sử lớp 7, tiết 21, bài 12, đời sống kinh tế văn hóa thời Lý (phần giáo dục và văn hóa).

Warm up
A. Purpose: Pay sts’s attention to the lesson
B. Instruction: Look at the picture, answer my questions.
C. Task: Answer.
- Form of learning: individually
- Asks ss: What is this?
 Where is this?
 What is special information about this place?
 D. Suggested answer:
 - It's the Temple of Literature.
 - It's in Ha Noi.
 - It is considered one of the most important cultural and historic sites of Viet Nam.
 - Hỏi HS đó là loại câu gì mà giờ trước các em đã học? (Câu bị động).
 * Dẫn vào bài: Trong tiết học hôm nay chúng ta sẽ cùng ôn lại một số thông tin về Văn Miếu và luyện tập chuyển câu chủ động sang câu bị động, đồng thời ôn lại cách đưa ra lời khuyên cho một ai đó.

1. Tips for trips
a. Imagine some overseas friends... (10')
A. Purpose: Giúp hs luyện tập cách đưa ra lời khuyên cho những người bạn nước ngoài khi họ có kế hoạch đến thăm Hà Nội.
B. Instruction: Imagine some overseas friends are planning a trip to Ha Noi. Advise them what they should and shuoldn't do. Write Do or Don't in each box.
C. Task: Read the sentences and write do or don't in the box.
- Form of learning: individually
- Gv show bảng 1.a. Cho hs đọc đồng thanh và phát hiện từ mới.
- Gt cụm từ: book a hotel in advance; pay a visit = visit the Temple..
- Cho hs 5' đọc và điền Do hoặc Don't.
- Gọi 1 số hs phát biểu trước lớp.
- Gv show bảng do/don't gợi ý of mình (Giải thích: có thể dùng do hoặc don't, nhưng cần phải có lý do cho sự lựa chọn đó).
- Yc hs qs lại bảng vừa điền. Vậy để đưa ra lời khuyên cho những người bạn nước ngoài ta nói ntn? Đối với những việc mà chúng ta điền "Do" thì các em sẽ dùng "You should...", đối với những việc các em đã điền "Don't" sẽ dùng "You shouldn't..." để đưa ra lời khuyên.
- Ex: You should book a hotel in advance.
 You shouldn't take summer clothes if you go between November and January.
- Lưu ý hs: các câu trên đều được bắt đầu bằng 1verb.
- Gọi 2-4 hs nói câu dùng "should/ shouldn't".
D. Suggested answer:
- You should learn some Vietnamese before you trip to Ha Noi.
- You shouldn't swim in the lake.

* Hỏi hs: Để đưa ra lời khuyên thì ngoài cách dùng "should/ shouldn't" chúng ta còn có thể dùng những cấu trúc câu nào?
- Hs: You'd better.../ It's a good idea to.../ You don't need ...
- Gv show bảng một số cấu trúc giving advice.
 You'd better... so (that)/ because...
 It's a good idea to... so (that)/ because...
 You won't need ... so (that)/ because...
 It's not necessary to... so (that)/ because...
- Lưu ý hs: sau so (that) là một kết quả, sau because là một lý do.

b. Work in pairs. Practise giving advice to your partner. (10')
A. Purpose: Help ss to practise giving advice to others.
B. Instruction: Qs lại bảng do/don't ở trên và sử dụng các mẫu câu đưa ra lời khuyên để đưa ra lời khuyên đối với bạn của em. Tuy nhiên ở phần này cô giáo muốn các em nói câu dài hơn, có đưa ra lý do hoặc kết quả của hành động, vì vậy các em qs ví dụ mẫu:
Ex: You'd better book a hotel in advance so (that) you are sure you have a room.
*Gv show bảng lý do/kết quả cho hs tham khảo, yc hs có thể đưa ra lý do khác.
 Do:
1. book a hotel in advance .... you are sure you have a room.
2. learn some Vietnamese before you trip to Ha Noi..... you can easilly understand what Vietnamese people say.
5. rent a bike or a motorbike if you want to travel around... it's easy for you to enter the narrow roads.
6. walk around the Old Quarter at night... you can enjoy its beauty.
8. shop in local markets for souvenirs... you are sure you have gifts for your friends when you come back.
10. pay a visit to the Temple of Literarure... it's one of the most beautiful sites of Ha Noi.
 Don't:
3. stay in a mini hotel..... it’s not very comfortable.
4. eat in small restaurants... there is not a wide of selection.
7. take summer clothes if you go between November and January... it's cold.
9. swim in the lake... it’s very dangerous.
C. Task:

- Cho hs lt 3' theo cặp.
- Gọi 2-3 cặp nói trước lớp.
D. Suggested answer:

A. Purpose: Giúp HS ôn tập lại cách chuyển câu chủ động sang câu bị động thời hiện tại.
B. Instruction: Các em qs lại bức tranh Văn Miếu và trả lời câu hỏi.
C. Task: 
- Form of learning: individually
- Hỏi hs: Is it beautiful?
 Are there any trees?
 Are there any flowers?
 There are many trees and flowers in the Temple of Literature.
That means: "They grow a lot of trees and flowers in the Temple of Literature."
- Gọi 1 hs phân tích thành phần câu:
 They grow a lot of trees and flowers

 in the Temple of Literature.
 Adv of place
- Hỏi hs: Đây là câu chủ động hay bị động?
- Yc hs chuyển câu chủ động trên sang câu bị động:
A lot of trees and flowers are grown in the Temple of Literature.
 S be + pp Adv of place
- Gv nhắc lại cấu trúc chuyển câu chủ động sang câu bị động ở thì hiện tại: 
Active: S + V + O ...
 S + be + PP + by + O ...

A. Purpose: Luyện cách chuyển câu chủ động sang câu bị động thời hiện tại thông phần trò chơi.
B. Instruction:.
* Gv giới thiệu: Bg chúng ta sẽ chơi một trò chơi lớn. Cách chơi như sau: Cô có 5 tấm thẻ. Trên mỗi tấm thẻ đều có chứa một cụm từ:

sell tickets
speak English
visit the Temple of Literature
buy souvenirs
- Cô sẽ chia lớp mình thành 2 đội. Mỗi đội nhận 2 tấm thẻ. Cách chơi: 1 em ở đội 1 giơ 1 tấm thẻ bất kỳ và đặt 1 câu chủ động có chứa cụm từ ghi trong thẻ. 1 hs ở đội 2 sẽ chuyển câu đó sang câu bị động. Mỗi câu trả lời đúng của mỗi đội sẽ được ghi 2 điểm. Đội sai không được điểm. Ví dụ:
G1: 
A: They grow a lot of trees and flowers in the Temple of Literature.
B: A lot of trees and flowers are grown in the Temple of Literature.

- Form of learning: Groupwork
- Gv phân công nhiệm vụ cụ thể cho từng nhóm:

- Trong mỗi nhóm lớn chia 2 nhóm nhỏ đặt câu chủ động cho các cụm từ. Cho mỗi đội 3' chuẩn bị.
- Gv ghi phần tính điểm lên bảng.
- Hết thời gian, yc đội 1 đặt câu chủ động. Nếu đúng được 2 điểm. Không đúng mời đội 2 đặt câu cho cụm từ đó, nếu đúng được 2 điểm, không đúng không bị trừ điểm. Gv sẽ đưa ra đáp án hỗ trợ trên bảng. Yc đội 2 chuyển câu. Nếu đúng được 2 điểm, không đúng cho 0 điểm. Lần lượt đến hết.
- Gv tổng kết trò chơi và tuyên dương đội chiến thắng.
D. Suggested answer:

B: English is spoken all over the world.

* Nếu còn nhiều thời gian gv cho thêm 1-2 câu chủ động yc hs chuyển sang câu bị động.

Consolidation 
A. Purpose: Giúp hs củng cố, khắc sâu kiến thức.
B. Instruction: Chúng ta vừa ôn lại các cách đưa ra lời khuyên, luyện tập cách chuyển câu chủ động sang câu bị động thông qua hoạt động trò chơi đặt câu về thông tin liên quan đên Văn Miếu - một di tích lịch sử quý báu của Việt Nam. Các em hãy liên hệ đến Lạng Sơn chúng ta. Can you tell me the names of some beautiful places?
C. Task: Answer

- Ky Cung Temple, Nhi Thanh Cave, Tam Thanh Cave, Mau Son Mountain...
- What should we do to protect Lang Son's historical sites?

- Ôn lại các cấu trúc đưa ra lời khuyên. Mỗi cấu trúc lấy ít nhất 1 ví dụ
- Viết 2 câu chủ động về việc bảo vệ danh lam thắng cảnh của Lạng Sơn.
