UNIT 13: FESTIVALS
	LESSON 2: SPEAK 
I. OBJECTIVES:
Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to practice talking about preparations for Tet.
II. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette tape
III. PROCEDURES:
Teacher’s activities
Students’ activities
1. Warm – Up: (5’)
- Ask students to think of 5 things they often do to prepare for Tet. and write them down on a piece of paper.
2. Pre – Speaking: (8’)
- Have students copy down some things they often do to prepare for Tet.
 - decorate the house
 - clean the house
 - pain the house
 - clean the yard
 - buy cakes, candies, drinks, food, fruits, 
 - cook / make cakes
 - buy new dress 
 - write and send New Year cards to friends/ relatives 
- Ask students to read the dialogue and put the sentences in the correct order.

3. While – Speaking: (15’)
- Ask students to practice the dialogue in pairs.
- Call some students to practice the dialogue. 
- Ask students to choose one of the festivals on the page 123, and make up their own dialogue.
- Call some pairs to demonstrate their dialogues.
