LESSON 4: WRITE.

I- Aims and ojectives:

- Language content: To enable the Ss to write a passage about a country picnic.

 To help the Ss to review the simple past tense.

- Language function: To enable the Ss to talk about a trip to the countryside.

- Educational aim: To make the Ss aware of beautiful places in the countryside.

1- Language:

a- Vocabulary: blanket, lay out, gather, site.

b- Structures: review the simple past tense.

2- Skills: Integrated skills.

3- Educational factor: To create for the Ss pleasant feeling through a country picnic.

II- Teacher and Students’preparation:

1- Method: Communicative approach.

2- Techniques: Explanation, prediction, using pictures, groupwork.

 3- Materials needed: Textbook, pictures, cassette player

LESSON 4: WRITE.
I- Aims and ojectives:
- Language content: To enable the Ss to write a passage about a country picnic.
 To help the Ss to review the simple past tense.
- Language function: To enable the Ss to talk about a trip to the countryside.
- Educational aim: To make the Ss aware of beautiful places in the countryside.
1- Language:

II- Teacher and Students’preparation:

 4- Students’preparation: Pictures, new lesson.
 5- Previous exercises: The Teacher’s key to the last exercises.
III- Procedure in class:
1- Stabilization (2 ms) a- Warm up: Greeting.
 b- Checking absence: Who’s absent today?
2- Checking up the previous knowledge (5ms): 
* Questions:
Asks the Ss to read the text, answer the questions and write some new words.
1. Where is the Parker family in the USA?
2. When does Van do chores?
* Keys to the questions:
According to each Ss’ ideas.
 1. The Parker family is on the farm.
 2. Van does chores in the afternoon.
 3- New lesson:
 Teaching steps & time
Teacher’s activities.
Students’ activities.
The content of the lesson.

* Chatting
- Asks the Ss some questions about going on a picnic.
+ Have you ever gone on a picnic?
+ When did you go?
+ Where did you go?
+ How did you get there?
+ When did you come back home?
+ Did you enjoy it?
- Answer the teacher’squestions.

2. Pre-writing:
- Asks the Ss to look at the pictures, listen to a paragraph and rearrange the pictures into order of “ a country picnic”.
- Explains some new words:
+ blanket (n) (picture)
+ lay out (v) ( picture & mine)
+ gather (v) (picture & translation)
+ picnis site (n) (picture & translation)
- Asks the Ss to read the new words.
- Checks understading of the new words by using the technique” what and where”.
- Reviews the simple past tense.
- Look at the pictures and rearrange the pictures into order.
- Focus on the teacher’s explanation.
- Read the new words.
- Play the gamewith the teacher’s helping.
- Listen to the teacher.

3. While-writing:
- Asks the Ss to write a passage entitled “A country picnic”.
- Has the Ss write the starting sentence on the board.
 It was a beautiful day, my friends and I decided to go on a picnic.
- Asks the Ss some questions to make sure they understand their task.
+ Who went on a picnic?
+ When did you go?
+ What do you do now?
- Asks the Ss to work in groups to use the pictures and cues to write the passage.
- Calls on some groups to hang on their writing.
- Corrects the mistakes and gives feedback.
- Write a passage entitle “ A country picnic”
- Write a passage, starting sentence on the board.
- Answer the questions.
- Work in groups to write the passage.
- Hang on their writing.
- Take notes.
2- Writing:
It was a beautiful day, my friends and I decided to go on a picnic. We took a bus to the countryside and then walked about 20 minutes to the picnic site next to the river. We put down the blanket and laid out the food. After meal we played the games “What song is it?” and blind man’s buff. Late in the afternoon we went fishing. We enjoyed our picnic. When we look at the time, it was nearly 6.30 pm. We hurriedly gathered our things and ran to the bus stop.

4. Post-writing
- Asks the Ss some questions based on the writing’s content:
Ex: Do you like going on a picnic? Why?
- Asks the Ss to retell their real picnic.
- Calls on some Ss to retell in front of the class and corrects.
- Answer the teacher’s questions.
- Retell their real picnic.
- Retell in front of the class
We were lucky to catch the last bus and we arrived home very late in the evening.
