Warm - up (5’) - Give Ss a picture and ask them some questions What’s it? Do you have a TV set at home? Where do you usually watch TV if you don’t have a TV set? - Look at the picture and answer the questions 2. Pre - reading (10’) + Activity 1: - Set the scene: you are going to read a text about TV - Introduce some new words Program (n): Gather (v): Comfortable (ad) + Activity 2: - Give Ss some sentences - Have Ss read them and guess which sentence is true , which is false. .In Viet Nam, 40 years ago many people had a TV set. They gathered to watch TV every Saturday. .Nowadays people usually spend much time together to watch TV - Listen - Guess the meaning - Read the sentence and guess 3. While - reading (20’) + Activity 1: - Have Ss read the text and check their prediction - Call Ss to get feedback Answer key: 1 - F, 2 - F, 3 - F + Activity 2: - Have Ss read the text again and complete the passage. - Have Ss work in group Answer key: people not TV popular evening gather they today have life know - Read the text and check their prediction - Correct - Work in group ,read the text again and complete the passage. 4.
