Class organization: 2 New material Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Time Pre- reading: Let students look at the pictures . Then guess What Hoa and her aunt did for dinner. Give them some question: + What did Hoa cook? + How did she prepare the food? + What did she do for dinner? Have Ss work in group to find out the answer themselves Call some Ss answer the questions Look at the pictures as requested . guess what Hoa and her aunt did for dinner. Listen and answer . Some Ss answer the questions and write them on the board 7’ While-reading Ask the Ss to listen to the tape Play the tape for Ss Introduce the new words + To slice + pepper - She sliced the beef and some green peppers and onions + to add - She added a little salt to the spinach so it tasted good + To heat + To stir- fry - She heated the pan and stir- fried the beef and the vegetables in a little vegetable oil. Guide Ss to read the new word Let them read the text themselves(in silence) . Ask them to give answer to the questions given Let them identify the food Hoa and her aunt and her uncle had for dinner . Ask them to write the menu . Write the new words on notebook Repeat after the teacher Read the text carefully Give answers to the questions Check in the questions Identify the food Hoa and her relative had for dinner . Write the menu + Cucumber salad with onions + boiled spinach + Stir- fried beef with green peppers and onions + rice 15’ Post – reading Ask Ss to add the missing verbs. Then match the instructions to the pictures Have students work in groups Call on some students to give the answer in front of the class .
