Lesson 1 : Telephone numbers A.1-2
A. Aims
By the end of the lesson, Sts will be able to identify numbers from 0 to 9 and read the different difficult numbers : 0 , 88 , 1133 .
 They can ask and answer their telephone numbers with their friends.

*Play game:" slap the board"

2. Presentation
-Introduce the content of the lesson by mentioning the importances of the telephone nowaday.
- Ask Sts to look at the page 19 and have Sts answer some questions :
 Where is this page from ?
 ( It is from telephone directory .)
-T introdues How to read the telephone numbers :
Note : 88 - you can read eight- eight or double eight .
-Have Sts practice : one reads the name in page , the other reads the telephone numbers 
-Correct the mistakes .
3. Practice
-Ask Sts to listen to some Sts' telephone number and write down the numbers they hear (A2 on p20)
-Play the whole tape about 2 times, ask ss to listen carefully and compare their answers with a partner.
- Play each telephone number again have ss check and give their answers before the class.
- Correct and give feedback

-Ask ss to read these telephone numbers again in chorus then call on some ss to read individually.
-Correct the pronunciation mistakes.

-Ask Sts to answer some questions :
Do you often talk with someone on the phone ?
Do you know the question asking for telephone numbers ?
Do you know how to give your telephone number to other people ?
-	Ask Sts some questions about the dialogue between Hoa and Lan :
Do you recognize Hoa's telephone number in the conversation ?
To know Hoa's telephone number , what does Lan ask ?
-Have ss work in pair to practice the dialogue between Lan and Hoa in some mins
-Have Sts practice in groups to ask and answer about : name , address and telephone numbers to complete the list in p20(A3)
-Have some groups role play in front of the class .
-Check and correct the mistakes .

-Ask Sts to learn at home how to read the telephone numbers , the structure of the questions and answers the telephone numbers .

A. Aims:

1. Warm up : 
 	*Play a game " Pelmanism " about the telephone number .
 Ex : 8 546 733 - eight five four six seven double three .
2. Presentation
-Have Sts look at part 4 and ask some questions :
 Who are they in the picture ?
 What are they doing ?
 What are they talking ? Can you guess ?
" Now look at the conversation and listen to the tape .What are they talking about ? "
-Play the tape , have ss listen then explain meaning of some structures in the dialogue:
	Would you like to V-inf .......?
	Let's meet at 6.45.
	Don't be late!
-Guid ss to read these structures.
*Introduce the new structure :
-Give examples prepared in the poster 
	A: What will you do tomorrow?
	B: I will go to the school
	A: Will you play soccer tomorrow afternoon ?

-Have ss read the dialogue, explain some words in the dialogue: tomorrow, elicit the uses and the form of the future simple tense from ss.
-Correct
The simple future tense with "will"

-Ask ss to work in pair to read the dialogue on p21 
-Monitor and help them
-Call on some pairs to act out before the class.
-Ask ss to work in pairs to ask and answer the questions on p21 about the dialogue.
-Have some pairs ask and answer before the class .
-Correct and give feedback.

-Introduce the ordinal numbers and have Sts read through the numbers (B1 on p24).
-Mention the different endings of 1st, 2nd , 3rd, and "th" after the ordinal numbers.
-Let them listen to the tape with considerable attention paid to the final consonants .
-Have Sts repeat after the tape along chorally .
-Notice Ss the use of these ordinal numbers:" ordinal numbers are used to talk about the dates of months and the ordinal numbers".
3 Practice : 
-Ask Sts some questions :
 	What's this ? 
	 	What is the month? 
	 	What special dates are there in this month?
-Explain the need of the task.
" You will listen to the conversation containing the dates of July . You listen to it and write the numbers you hear "
-Have Sts listen to the tape and write down the numbers they hear, then compare their answers with a partner.
-Play the tape 1 more each number in order that ss can check their answers.
-Call on some ss to give answers before the class 
-Give feedback and correct.
