- Have sts write as many words as they can about things in the house
- Call some sts to write on the board. 
-Write the words they know about things in the house
1 .Warm – up. 
Things in the house
 Fridge table bowl 
Knife rice cooker clock chair stove, , cupboard....
-Ask questions to focus on the lesson:
+Where is the clock?
+ Where are the knives?
+Where is the calendar?
+Where is the fridge?
-Have some sts describe the picture.
- Has Ss work in pairs to call names of things in the picture. (page 28)
- Calls on some Ss to call names of things in the picture.
-Go around the class for help.
- Gives helps (if necessary)
-Look at the picture and answer the questions:
+ It is on the wall.
+They are on the wall, under the cupboard. 
+It’s under the clock.
+ It’s under the calendar.
-Describe the picture, using the answers above.
2. *Pre speaking.
1) Look at the picture and describe the position of each item.
*Some prepositions of place: in, on, under, above, below, next to, between, in front of, behind 
* Structures:
- Let’s put the armchair opposite the couch.
- OK. And I think we ought to. But the rug between the armchair and the couch
Set the scene: “Mrs. Vui bought new furniture for her living room, but she can’t decide where to put it. You should help her to arrange the furniture.
-Call some sts to tell about their arrangement.
- Correct the answers
- Gives Ss some examples. 
-Listen to the teacher’s introduction.
-Discuss where to put the furniture in groups.
-Practice in front of the class, telling about the arrangement 
- Copy the answers

2) Arrange the items in the picture.
S1: Let’s put the clock on the wall, between the shelf and the picture.
S2: OK, I think we ought to put the TV and the stereo on the shelf.
S3: I think the coffee table should be between the couch and the arm-chair.
S4: Let’s put the telephone next to the couch.
S5: I think we should put the magazines above the books on the shelves.
S6: I think the shelves ought to be at one of the corners, opposite the couch. 
Ex:- The calendar is on the wall above the fridge.
- The rice cooker is on the cupboard, next to the bowl of fruit.
- let’s put the magazines on the shelf, above the books.

 Summarize the lesson, emphasizing on the using of “Let’s + inf” to tell about positions

Ex:
 -Let’s put waste paper in the waste paper basket.
-Let’s hang the calendar under the clock. 
- Ask students to learn prepositions of position by heart , practice telling about position of things, look at the picture, decide where to put the furniture and prepare unit 3: “Listen” for the next period.
- Take notes and memorize
- Do as the teacher suggests.

II. Teaching aids: Pictures, cassette player, tape.

4. *Post-speaking
 -Use a big pan. Put in the pan a little oil. When the oil is hot, fry the garlic and green peppers. After that put the ham, the peas in. At last, put the rice and a little salt in. 
 * The necessary ingredients and utensils to cook “Salad”
- 1 medium – sized lettuce.
- 1 carrot
- a few onions
- some tomatoes
- a cucumber.
- salad oil; salt
* Model answers:
- First of all, wash the lettuce, drain it, put it into a large salad bowl.
- Slice the carrot and add to the lettuce.
- Cut the cucumber and the tomatoes into thin slices and add them.
- Add some salad oil and a little salt and mix them together.
- Finally put the finished salad into the fridge for half an hour before serve it.
- Ask students to learn new words by heart
