Objectives: To introduce the topic about traveling and famous places in Viet Nam. Ha Long Bay 2.Presentation:10’ * Activity 1: : 05’ Elicits the new words: - luggage (n) = bag , suitcase - front seat > < back seat (n) (picture) - water buffalo (n) ( picture) - corn (n) ( picture) - sugar can( n) ( picture) Have Ss practice the new words ( picture drill) Set up the scene: “Tim and his family, Mr. Jone, Mrs Jone and Sharon. Tim’s sister come to visit Viet Nam.Hoa, Tim’s friend, meets them at the airport and take them to the hotel” What can they see on the way to the hotel? Have Ss listen to the dialogue and answer the question above. Check and correct. Listen- answer Take note new words Practice new words ( whole class-individual) Listen to the scene Read the guiding question Listen –answer à They can see a boy riding a water buffalo, rice paddies, corn, sugar canes. 3.Practice:10’ @ Activity 1 Have Ss practice the dialogue in group Call Ss to perform before the class. How does Hoa say to Mr Jones when she want to sit with Tim and Sharon? What is the answer? How does Tim say when he wants to take a photo? What is the answer? à Introduce the request with “mind” Would you mind sitting in the front seat,Mr Jones? à No problem. Would you mind if I took a photo? à Not at all.
