Jeans are very popular with young people all over the world. Some people say that

Swedish people have a holiday on the summer solsti ce. After the winter, they
are ready to celebrate. They call this holiday Midsummer Day because it comes in the
middle of their summer, June 21. It's a day for people to be outside .
Swedes decora te poles with flowers and ribbons , and childre n dance around the
poles and sing. They also play specia l games, such as one in which the childre n
pretend to be small animals. In the evening, it's time for the adults to celebrate. They
make a festiv e meal. For dessert , they have a special summer treat: strawberries and
cream. Afterwa rd, they dance. Many Swedes stay awake until the sun comes up,
which is earlier than you might think. In the north, the sun rises at 3 a. m in the
summer. It is not surpris ing that Midsummer Day is a favorit e holiday in Sweden.
Summer is a time to treasu re for people who live so far north.
