Aims:
 By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to :
- Talk about their own background.
- Know how to ask for other people’s background.

Answer the questions:
When was Marie Curie born?
Was she a brilliant and mature student ?
Why did she work as a private tutor ?
What did she find out in 1914?

Ask students some questions:
1. Do you want to know your friend’background ?
2. Do you want to talk about your background ?
I. Pre- speaking
Activity 1: Decide which of the items below can tell you about somebody’s background
- Work in pairs
- Check the answers
- Write on the board + family + education + experience
- Discuss what questions can ask to know these information
- Work individually
- Check the answers
- Give the feedbacks
Answer:
1. Family:
 - How many people are there in your family?
 - What does your father do?
2. Education:
 - Where did you study at High school?
- What subjects do you like best?
 - What degree do you have?
3. Experience:
- How long have you worked as a teacher?

Activity 2 : Interviewing ( task 2- textbook)
Divide class into pairs
Help them to study the items carefully
Work in pairs
Monitor
Give them the questions to collect the information
Call on some pairs to pratise

+ Home: Where do you live?
+ Parents: Can you tell me about your parents?

Activity 3: Talk about the person you have learnt about from the interview.
