3. Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

a) Knowledge:

• General knowledge:

- Get information about some famous places in Viet Nam

• Language:

- Know expression for describing some beauty places.

- Structure: Use “be going to” and the present progressive (with a future meaning)

- Remember new words related to famous places in Viet Nam.

b) Skill:

- Scan for specific information.

- Read for detailed information from textbook.

- Skim for the gist of the text.

Part A: Reading
Class description: 10A3: 42 students (Ss): 22 girls and 20 boys
Time:	45minutes
Objectives: 
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
Knowledge:
General knowledge:
Get information about some famous places in Viet Nam
Language:
Know expression for describing some beauty places.
Structure: Use “be going to” and the present progressive (with a future meaning)
Remember new words related to famous places in Viet Nam.
Skill:
Scan for specific information.
Read for detailed information from textbook.
Skim for the gist of the text.
Attitude:
Love more our country and learn well to devote our life to the country.
Teacher aids: textbook, projector, speakers, computer, ect.

Warm-up
(3mins)
Game: “Who is the quicker?”
-Devided the class into 2 groups.
-Ask Ss to work in groups and go to the board to make a list of famous places in Vietnam in 1minute. The group with the longest list will be the winner.
- Lead to the new lesson
Do as T’ requirement
I. Pre-reading
(12mins)
Ask Ss to work in pairs and match the photos with the information in the book (page 62,63), then tell each other which of places you would like to visit and give the reasons.
Give the correct answers.
Show the new words:
excursion (n) - explanation
formation (n) - explanation
permission (n) –example
persuade ( v) –explanation
campfire ( n) -using picture
- Have Ss write down new words into their notebook.
-- Check vocabulary by “Rubout Remember”
- Read alound the new words and ask Ss listen and repeat along.
- Review “be going to + infinitive” and the present progressive with a future meaning.
Work in pair and do as requirement.

- Give instruction:
 “Now you are going to read the letter and then do task 1 in page 64” 
- Ask Ss read the statements to understand them first (call Ss to translate the sentences into Vietnamese) 
- Ask the Ss read the letter individually in 1minute and choose the best answer A,B,C or D to complete each of sentences.
-Call Ss to read and explain their answers in front of the class.
-Feedback and gives correct answers.
- Give the tips to do type of this task.
- Ask Ss read the questions to understand first and then underline the key words in each question.
-Ask Ss work in pairs, read the letter again to answer the questions.
-Call some pairs to act out the activities in front of the class.
-Checks the answers in front of the class.
- Read the statements and translate them
-Read the letter individually and do the task.
-Read and explain the answers in front of the class.

1. They are going on a trip when they have some days off after the 1st term.
2. They are visiting some caves because they want to understand their geography lesson better and many of them have never been inside a cave.
3. It’s only over 20 km.
4. They are going to make a two-day trip and have a night campfire. They are bringing their own food and sharing buses with some other classes to make the trip cheap.
5. Lan is anxious about her parents’ permission. They may not want to let her stay the night away from home.
III. Post-reading
(3mins)
-Have Ss work independently and fill in each blank with a suitable group of words from the text.
-Ask Ss to read the summary carefully before doing this task.
-Have them to compare the answers with a friend.
- Call Ss read the completed summary passage.
- Give correct answers.
- Work inpendently.
- Do this task.
- Compare with their friends.
- Share the answer in front of the class.
