 Lesson 2: THE WEATHER AND SEASONS (A3)
I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students can ask and answer about their favorite weather.

Warm up: (5’)
- Have the students listen to the song “The Seasons song” and answer the questions:
How many seasons are there in a year? What are they?
What’s the weather like in the Summer?
 (Fall? Spring? Winter?)
How many seasons are there in Lac Duong? What are they? 
- Ask the students: “What weather do you like?” to introduce the new lesson.
Presentation 
Task 1 (7’)
- Use the pictures to present the new words
I. New words
* the dry season (n) : mùa khô
* sunny (adj.) : có nắng
* the rainy season (n): mùa mưa
* rainy (adj.) : có mưa
-Have the students complete the following sentences ,using the words in the box: the dry season, rainy, sunny, the rainy season 
 a. There are two seasons in Lac Duong. They are (1) and the rainy season.
b. It’s (2)  in the dry season.
c. It’s (3)  in the rainy season.
d. I don’t like (4)  because it’s rainy every day.
Task 2 (8’)
- Have the students listen to the tape (A3) to match the sentences with the right pictures
a) I like hot weather.
b) We like cold weather.
c) She likes cool weather.
d) They like warm weather.
II . Structures
 S1: What weather do you like?
 does she like?
 S2: I like warm weather.
 She likes cold weather.
Form: what weather + do/ does + S + like?
S + like (s) + adj. + weather.
Practice 
Task 3 (4’)
- Have the students look at the pictures (A3) to practice asking and answering, using the model sentences.
Task 4 (8’)
- Have the students ask and answer, using the pictures and the cues given.
1- she/ hot weather
2- they/ cold weather
3- he/ sunny weather
4- they/ rainy weather
5- they/ warm weather
- Ask students to practise asking and answering about their favorite weather.
4. Production (10’)
- Have the students play the game : Find someone who likes hot/ warm/ cold / cool  weather

Listen to the song and answer the questions:

Look at the pictures and guess the meaning of word.
Practice reading the new words 
( in chorus → individually) 
- Complete sentences

Listen to the tape (twice) and match the sentences with the right pictures

Read the sentences (individually)
Take note
Listen to the teacher’s model sentences and then practice asking and answering.

S2: I like (hot) weather.

Ex: Dang likes cold weather.
