 LESSON1. GETTING STARTED

I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- Use the lexical items related to the topic of life in the countryside

- Listen and read for specific information about a conversation about life in the countryside

 (Scanning, skimming) & talk about the things that children do in the countryside.

- Practice listening and speaking with the lexical items related to the topic

II. Teaching aid: Textbook, stereo, CD.

III. Methods: Communicative approach, audio-lingual method, 3p, ESA, lexical approach .

 (5 minutes)
1. Purpose : (INTRODUCTION)
- This activity focuses students on the theme of unit 
2. Instruction: 
- You answer some my questions & then try to give as many activities in the countryside you know as possible 
- Look at the picture & try to say what you see 
3. Task :
- Listen carefully, observe the picture & answer the questions.
- Work individually 
Suggested questions: What do children in the city often do for leisure activities? What about the children in the countryside? What activity is more common in the countryside? Why? 
What can you see in the picture? What is the conversation about? Which season is the harvest time? What do the farmers/ the children do? What do you think the countryside is like at the harvest time?...
 Activity 2 
 (20 minutes)
1. Purpose : (Task 1)
- This activity focuses ss on the information from the conversation between Nick & Nguyen
2. Instruction: 
- You listen to the conversation & do exercises as directed 
3. Task :
- Listen carefully / Work individually/ small group

- Use Adjective to describe people, life and scenery in the countryside/ talk about life in the countryside Listen and repeat the words and mark stress/ to pronounce the words with the correct stress patterns Revise Comparison, present simple
- Practice listening and speaking with the lexical items related to the topic 
- Attitude: Ss will be able to know the differences between life in the countryside and the one in the city.
