Leson 1: GETTING STARED + LISTEN AND READ
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson pupils can: - know the theme of the lesson; get acquainted with some modern equipment in the house.
- Talk about past events.
- Distinguish between facts and opinions. 
	II. Preparation
	- A color picture about part "Getting started".
	- Radio + tape.
	- A sub board written on part "Fact or Opinion".
 III. Procedure:

The Contents
1. Warm up:
- Teacher hangs the color picture on board and introduces the theme of the lesson.
- Get pupils to look at the picture and find the names of the things that do not belong to the part.
- Let pupils work in pairs to do, and then compare their answer with each other's.
- Get pupils to go to the board and write (2 pupils), other speak.
- Teacher gives out the correct answer.
- Gets pupils to work in pairs to ask and answer about their home.
2. Presentation:
- Teacher introduces the themes of the conversation.
- Teacher reads first and gets pupils to give out new words.
- Guides pupils to give out the use and meaning of them.
- Teacher reads first and gets pupils to listen.
- Guide pupils to read new words once.
- Get them to read new words in silence.
- Call some pupils to read new words.
- Checks pupils reading.
- Get pupils to repeat the form, use of the simple past tense.
- Teacher gives the sample sentences, explains and gets pupils to give out the form.

II. Grammar:
1. The simple past tense:
a. Form:
S + Ved / V2 + O
S + was / were + O
b. Using:
- Express an action which happened and finished in the past.
2. Used to.
Eg:
I used to look after my younger brother.

* Note: "Used to" denotes an actions or a habit in the past.
3. Have to.
Eg3: I had to stay at home and help my mom.

III. Practice:

At the end of the lesson teacher Helps pupils to practice speaking skill, talk about the difference of life between now days and in the part. Helps pupils to practice listening skill: Listen and master the main content of a folk take.

	- Two pictures of Lam Truong singer. (in the part and now)

- Teacher hangs the two pictures of Lam Truong singer on and gets pupils to say about him. (Now and in the past)
- Get pupils to take note the tenses.
2. Pre - Speaking - Listening:
- Teacher hangs the color pictures on and guides pupils how to speak.
- Gets pupils to give out the form.
- Gets pupils to take note the form of after "used to"
- Gets pupils to take note the difference between two tenses.
- Gets pupils to take note the use of Vin / Vs/es ; do / does.
- Teacher explains the request of the listening.
- Teacher introduces some new words.
- Guides pupils to give out the use and meaning of them.
- Teacher reads first and gets pupils to listen carefully.

* One day as I was in the field and my buffalos was grazing when the tiger came.
* It asked me why strong buffalo was my servant and I was its master.

* I told it I left my wisdom at home. Then I tied the tiger to a tree with a rope because I didn't want it to eat my buffalo.
