Warm up:
Situation: T gets into the class carrying a lot of thingf in her hands, or looking tired. Hopefully, some student may offer her some assistance.
Make a few requests from students 
Could I help me, please? Would you mind opening the door for me? 
Could you do me a favour? Would you clean the board for me?
Presentation:
Lead-in: In daily life we always have to ask for and respond to favors.
Presentation: 
After about ten requests, ask the class to try to remember what you just asked. Usually, they will just remember the actual request such as open the door. If that is the case, ask them how you said it. Write any expressions they come up with on the board. Then cover the other expressions that they couldn't remember.
Model sentences: have Ss work in groups in put sentences into the correct box.
ASKING FOR FAVORS

Presentation dialogue:
Divide class into 2 groups. Group 1 practices dialogue 1 between Mrs. Ngoc and Hoa. Group 2 practice the second dialogue between Nam and a tourist.
Call some pairs to present the dialogue.
Comprehension questions:
Is it a dialogue offering assistance or asking for favor?
What did Mrs. Ngoc ask Hoa to do? Why?
Did Nga accept?
What did the tourist want Nam to do?
Why did he want to get to the café?
Practice:
Task 1: Think of four things you would need to have done if you were going on a long vacation. Write requests asking a friend to do the things. (handout)
	Example: Could you water the plants?
Task 2. (handout) Look at the pictures and write the conversations. Speaker A makes a request. Speaker B declines it. Each speaker should give a reason.
Task 3: ordering: have Ss work in pairs and put the sentences into the correct order and practice the dialogue. (Handout)
Task 3: roleplays: Have Ss work in pairs. Each pair choose a situation and make a complete dialogue. (handout)
Remind Ss to give reason for their requests and thank at the end of the conversation.
Pre-listening:
Introduction: Today we are going to listen to a very interesting song about union. There are some missing words in the song. Listen to the tape and fill in the missing words.
While-listening:
Listening: Have Ss listen to the tape and fill in the missing words.
Post-listening:
Singing: The class sing the song together
Homework:
learn the structure of offering assistance and asking for favor
