I.OBJECTIVES :By the end of the lesson,students will be able to practice and understand the dialogue about what

 they should do in the situations which require first aid.

II.LANGUAGE CONTENTS :

 - Grammar:simple future tense to make a request, an offer or a promise

 - Vocabulary: emergency, ambulance, wound, pressure, burn bleed, sterile, conscious.

III.TECHNIQUES : elicitation, pairwork , groupwork, brainstorming.

IV.TEACHING AIDS: extraboard,pictures, tape.

V.PROCEDURES :

*Chatting:
-Have you ever cut yourself ?
-Have you ever had a burn on your arm ?
ÞWhat would you do when you’re in these 
 situations ?
I.Getting started:
*Name things in the pictures :
-emergancy room -ice
-bandage / cotton balls -water pack
-medicated oil -alcohol
*What should you do in these situations :
+We should use cold water or ice to ease the wound.
+We should use alcohol to clean the wound and hold it 
 tight with sterile dressing.
+We should use cotton wool to stop the bleeding, tell 
 her lie down and put a cold towel on her forehead.
+We should apply medicated oil on his wound.
II.Listen and read :
*Lead in :This morning Lan’s friend fell off her bike and hit her head on the road. Let’s listen and read the conversation between Lan and a nurse to know what Lan does
*Listen to the tape:
*Vocabulary:
+emergency(n):
+ambulance(n): a vehicle equipped to carry sick
 or injured people to the hospital.
+ conscious (adj ) =/= unconscious
+ pressure (n): 
+ handkerchief (n): 
*Language content : 
 + in order to / so as to + inf. à purpose 
- we put cold water on a burn in order to/so as to ease the
 pain .
+The future simple can express a request or a promise
 * Will you + inf. ..? à a request
Example : 
 Will you hurry , please?
 I promise I’ll keep her awake 
1.Practice the dialogue with the partner .
*Questions :
a.Why does the nurse ask Lan to put pressure on 
 the wound and hold it tight?
b. Why do we put cold water on a burn?
2.Select the topics covered the dialogue .

*Make a conversation:
A.Have you ever cut yourself ?
B.Yes, I have.
A.What should you do when you’re in this 
 situation ?
B.I should use a tower or a handkerchief to cover
 the wound.
-Learn the new words by heart.
-Finish all exercises into your exercisebooks.
-practice the dialogue with your partners.
-Prepare:”SPEAK”
