Warm up T: hang a picture of flags on the board T. asks Ss to look at the picture and match the flags with the country - Ss work in groups and match the countries with their nationalities Ss play a game. - T. shows some picture of flags. - T. walks around and tells ss wher you are from. - Ss listen and choose one of the flags and answer the teacher. - Ss play game. II. Presentation * Vocabulary. T. shows the picture of Mount Everest and elicits words from Ss. Ss read vocab in chorus. Rub out and remember * Pre reading. T. asks to look at the pictures, discuss and make a guess about which country the pictures are about. Ss look at the pictures and match the pictures with the four group of people.. II. Practice * While reading. - T. asks Ss to read the paragraphs and use the pictures in T3 to decide which group of people celebrates New Year that way. - Ss work in groups of four and read the text carefully and match. - Ss use information in the text and their own idea to match them with the definitions. T. calls a student to the board and write the correct answer IV. Production - Ss choose two facts from the four paragraphs and write them down. - T. asks some Ss to read aloud. V. Homework.
