Unit 12: Let’s eat.
Lesson 3: A3 (page 116-117).
Aim: Reading the text for details about making a meal.
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand how to make a meal.

- T says : “ Let’s play game. This is jumbled words”
“ Jumbled words” ( group work)
- T divides the whole class into 8 groups. Each group must finish this work in 5 minutes. ( Write these jumbled words on the small boards).

1. Pre teach vocabulary: ( 10’)
-T says : “ We’ll continue unit 12. Who know title unit 12? ( Let’s eat). That’s right! Thank you! Today, we’ll learn how to make a meal.
Now, we begin number one- newword.
I have some pictures. You will look at the picture and guess.
Look at the first picture. What is this? 
Listen and repeat.
 - a bowl (n) : cái chén
(picture)
Look at the second picture. What is this? ( it’s mean food prepared as a part of meal )
Listen and repeat.
 - a dish (n) : món ăn
(picture or definition: food prepared as a part of meal).
Look at the third picture. What is this? 
Listen and repeat.
 - soy sauce (n) : nước xì dầu
(pictures).
Look at the next picture. What are they doing? ( It means cut something into thin pieces)
Listen and repeat.
 - ( to) slice (v) : thái ,cắt thành lát mỏng
(picture or definition:cut something into thin pieces ).
Look at the picture. What is she doing?
Listen and repeat.
 - ( to) stir – fry (v) : xào
(picture or definition : cook vegetables, meatby frying them for a short time in very hot oil while stirring them).
Who know this mean “thêm vào” in English?
Listen and repeat.
 - ( to) add (v) :cho thêm vào
(picture ).
Who can read all the newwords today? Who can? ( well done, thank you! )
- T says : “The whole class, listen and repeat one again
2. Ordering (5’).
- T hangs the poster of statements on the board.
- Get Ss to work in pairs to guess the order of the statements.
- T says : “ I have the poster of statements. You must guess the order of the statements in 3 minutes. Work in pair. Now, let’s start”.
a. First, She sliced the beef.
b. Then, she cooked some rice and boiled some spinach.
c. Hoa’s aunt cooked dinner.
d. Next, she sliced some green peppers and onions.
e. And then she set the table and the family sat down to eat.
f. After that, she stir- fried the beef and vegetables.
g. Finally, she sliced the cucumbers and made cucumber salads.
- T asks some Ss to write the answer on the board.
- T says: “Who can go the board and write the answer? Who volunteer? Boy/girl, please.”
1. Reading and checking (5’) :
- T asks Ss to open their books, read the text on page 116 and check the order.
- T says: “Open your book on page 116, read in 3 minutes and check the order”.
- Give feedback and correct.
- T says: “Finish! Now, Let’s check!”

2. Comprehension Questions (10’)
 - Get Ss to work in groups to answer the questions on page 116. 
 “Answer the questions on page 116. Work in group in 5 minutes”
- Ask 2 Ss write answers on the board. 
“Who can go the board and write the answer?”
- Check the correct answer and ask Ss to copy this.
“ Now, let’s check. Write down on the notebook”

a. What did Hoa, her aunt and uncle have for dinner? Write the menu.
 Hoa, her aunt and uncle had rice, boiled spinach, beef fried with green peppers and onions, and cucumber salad for dinner.

b. Add the missing verbs.
- T says: “Now, read one again and add the missing verbs”
