Pre-listening - Elicit the new words: + district (n) quận, huyện + passenger (n) hành khách + pedal (n) đạp xe + purchase (n) đồ mua được, vật mua được + stall (n) quầy bán hàng - Read aloud all the word. - Read again and ask Ss to repeat after T. - Call on some Ss to read aloud. * Checking: Slap the board II. While-listening 1. Task 1: Number the pitures - Ask Ss to run through task 1 in text book - Ask Ss to guess the order of the pictures - Ask Ss to listen to Mr. Lam’s talk about his daily routine and number the pictures in the correct order. - Play the tape twice - Call on some Ss to give their answers - Listen and give feedback -> suggested answers: 1-e 2-f 3-a 4-c 5-b 6-d - Play the tape one more time (if necessary). 2. Task 2: T/F statements - Lead out the handouts: T F 1. 1. Mr. Lam lives in District 1. 2. Mr. Lam usually gets up early. 3. After Mr. Lam gets up, he rides his cyclo from District 5 to District 1. 4. Mr. Lam’s first passengers are two pupils. 5. Mr. Lam has lunch at home with his family. 6. After lunch Mr. Lam immediately goes back to work. - Ask Ss to read the sentences quickly - Explain some difficult words (if necessary) - Ask Ss to listen again and decide if the sentences are true or false - Play the tape again - Call on some Ss to give the answers - Give feedback -> suggested answers: F (not ) T. F ( District 1 to district 5). F (are two pupils ->is an old man) F (at home with his family -> at a food stall near BT Market.) F (immediately goes back to work -> take a short rest) - Play the tape the last once and ask Ss to listen and check again. III. Post-listening - Ask Ss to work in pairs and ask and answer questions about Mr Lam’s activities using the cues below: Namestart..work..lunch ..occupation.passengers.rest - Go around the class and offer help if necessary. - Call on some pairs ask and answer in front of the class. Feedback and give suggested answers: What’s the man’s name? What does he do? What time does he start work? Who are his passengers?/ Is his first passenger an old man? Where does he have lunch? What time does he have lunch? Does he take a rest? IV. Homework - Retell the story about Mr.Lam’s activities - Review the lesson - Prepare U- writing
