Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Content - Have sts write as many words as they can about things in the house - Call some sts to write on the board. -Write the words they know about things in the house 1 .Warm – up. Things in the house Fridge table bowl Knife rice cooker clock chair stove, , cupboard.... -Ask questions to focus on the lesson: +Where is the clock? + Where are the knives? +Where is the calendar? +Where is the fridge? -Have some sts describe the picture. - Has Ss work in pairs to call names of things in the picture. (page 28) - Calls on some Ss to call names of things in the picture. -Go around the class for help. - Gives helps (if necessary) -Look at the picture and answer the questions: + It is on the wall. +They are on the wall, under the cupboard. +It’s under the clock. + It’s under the calendar. -Describe the picture, using the answers above. 2. *Pre speaking. 1) Look at the picture and describe the position of each item. *Some prepositions of place: in, on, under, above, below, next to, between, in front of, behind * Structures: - Let’s put the armchair opposite the couch. - OK. Teaching aids: Pictures, cassette player, tape. III. Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Content - Have sts write about the food they know and like to eat. -What kind of food do you like best? -Do you like fried rice? -Have you ever eaten Chinese fried rice? Or: - Calls on some Ss to describe one room in his/ her house. - Gives feedback and marks. b/- Has Ss take part in the game “Hung man” about things in house. - Gives feedback. -Write the food on the board. Put in the pan a little oil. When the oil is hot, fry the garlic and green peppers. After that put the ham, the peas in. At last, put the rice and a little salt in. * The necessary ingredients and utensils to cook “Salad” - 1 medium – sized lettuce. - 1 carrot - a few onions - some tomatoes - a cucumber. - salad oil; salt * Model answers: - First of all, wash the lettuce, drain it, put it into a large salad bowl. - Slice the carrot and add to the lettuce. - Cut the cucumber and the tomatoes into thin slices and add them. - Add some salad oil and a little salt and mix them together. - Finally put the finished salad into the fridge for half an hour before serve it. - Ask students to learn new words by heart -Tell how to cook fried rice. - prepare unit 3: “Read” for the next period. - Take notes and memorize - Do as the teacher suggests. 5.Homework: -Learning new words by heart -Tell how to cook fried rice. -Preparing unit 3: “Read” for the next period. Or: - Calls on Ss to talk about main ingredients and way to cook “Special Chinese Fried Rice” - Gives feedback and marks. - Write prepositions on the board. 1 .Warm – up.
