Unit 10: RECYCLING Lesson 6: Write Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be provided some ways to recycle some material such as: paper, plastic, etc. Skill: Students review how to giving instructions. The detail in this lesson is to introduce students the way to recycle some typical material as: paper, plastic, etc. Attitude: Through the lesson student will know some ways to recycle items in their house instead of throwing out. Preparation: * Teacher: textbooks, chalks, boards, lesson plan and visual ads. * Student: course book, workbook, notebook, pens, etc. Procedure: Stages and times Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Organization (2’) - Greeting class - Checking the class if any student absents - Greeting teacher - The monitor checks the number of students in class to teacher. Warm up (6’) - Teacher introduces students to play the “Finding Words” game. - Teacher writes the word “RECYCLING” down the board. - Teacher devices class into three groups. - Teacher tells the rules to students: each group has at least 10 members to join the game, but a member of each group stand at the board to paste the words that their team has found. The other go to the three corners of classroom to find the letters but the members of each group has to go one by one. It is not all members go to find. - The winner will be team that find all the letter of the word “RECYCLING” and paste it down the board fastest. They will be rewarded. - Students listen to the teacher’s instruction. - Students work in group and they have to make decision who will be the finder and who will paste the letters. - Students play the game under teacher’s control. - Students receive their reward if they are the winner. New lesson (32) 10’ 12’ 10’ 1. Pre- writing. - Teacher introduces the topic of the writing and some new words to students. * Pre- teach vocabulary - Teacher asks students to find some new words in the text. - Teacher shows some words’ meaning. For example: To soak: làm thấm /ướt, ngâm Wire mesh: lưới sắt Bucket: thùng, sô Mash: bóp nghiền nát Wooden spoon: thìa gỗ - Let students practice the new words. - Teacher checks students’ vocabularies by slapping the words’ meaning and teacher asks students the meaning. 2. While- writing. - Teacher asks students to open their book on page 93 to do exercise. - Teacher reads the text’s title out loud and gives the explaination meaning. - Teacher orders students to do exercise in their book. - Teacher can explain some extra new words if students don’t understand. - After a few minutes, teacher asks students to show their answers. - Teacher corrects the answers to student. - Teacher asks at least 2 students to read the text out loud. - Teacher continues introducing the giving instructions to students through the exercise has just done. - Teacher gives students the form of it. 3. Post- writing. - Teacher asks students to do the next exercise by using the form has just leant and using one of word in the box. - Teacher explains the exercise’s title to students. - Teacher can do an example to make students understand the offer clearly. For example: First, take the used tea leaves from the tea pop. - Asks students to do the rest of exercise. - After students do finish, teacher asks some students to show their answers. - Teacher corrects students’ answer if they do correctly. - Students listen to the teacher. - Students find the words that they don’t understand - Students copy new words down their own notebook. - Students read the new words. - Students work individually to find out the words’ meaning. - Students open their book. - Students listen to teacher - Students work in group of four to complete the exercise. - Students show their answers. - Students copy the correct answer to their notebook. - Students practice reading the text individually. - Students listen to teacher. - Students copy the giving instructions down their book. - Students listen to the teacher’s explaination. - Students base on the teacher’ example to do the next parts. - Students can work with their partner. - Students read loud their answers - Students check their answers themselves base on teacher’s result. Feedback (3’) - Teacher reminds the way to recycle paper and used tea - Answers students’ questions if they have any question. - Students listen to teacher. - Ask teacher if they have any question. Homework (2’) - Learn by heart the new words and the ways to recycle paper or used tea. - Prepare new lesson. - Students copy down the homework.
