Procedure: Time Activities 5’ 10’ 10’ 8’ 10’ 2’ * Warm up: - Ask students to keep book close - Give a picture that has a sheep on the ship - Ask students to complete the sentence: I see a on the ->suggested answer: I see a sheep on the ship - Ask students to speak the sentence loudly - Let students pay attention on pronunciation : /I/- /i:/ - Lead in the new lesson I. Pronunciation - Give some more words containing the sounds: /I/- /i:/ /I/ hit kick bit click little interest /i:/ heat repeat beat read meat eaten - Read all the words first: clearly, correctly - Listen and correct Ss’s pronunciation (if necessary) - Ask Ss to listen and read after T the sentences in text book: 1. Is he coming to the cinema? 2. We’ll miss the beginning of the film 3. Is it an interesting film, Jim? 4. The beans and the meat were quite cheap. 5. He’s going to leave here for the Green Mountains. 6. Would you like to have meat. Peas and cheese. - Ask Ss to work in pairs and find out the words containing two sounds /I/ and /i:/ - Give feedback II. Grammar The present simple tense - Revise the present simple tense by giving an example: Eg. He often goes to school everyday - Ask Ss to work in pairs and discuss the form and use of the present simple tense. * Form: (+) S + V(s,es) + O (-) S + don’t/doesn’t + Vbare + O (?) Do/Does (not) + S + Vbare + O? - Ask Ss some questions: + When do we use this tense? + What adverbs of frequency does it go with?-> sometime, often, always,. * Use: - Diễn tả 1 hành động, 1 thói quen lặp di lặp lại ở hiện tại - Diễn tả 1chân lí, 1 sự thật hiển nhiên.. - Ask Ss to give more examples Exercise 1: - Ask students to do Exercise 1 in textbook - Let them work in pairs - Call on some Ss to give the answers - Correct the answers -> Suggested answers: 1. is 2. fish 3. worry 4. are 5. catch 6. am 7. catch 8. go 9. give up 10. says 11. realize. 12.
